It is my pleasure to heartily welcome you to the website of The Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State. The Polytechnic which had over the years gained National and International recognition began as BIDA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY following its relocation and change of name (Federal College of Technology, Kano) from Kano, Kano State to Bida, Niger State in July 27, 1977.
Eyagi Technical School, Eyagi-Bida was its first Host Institution. It from there relocated to Ndayako Area, Bida, a site vacated by Federal Government Girls College, Bida which had moved to its permanent site along Lemu Road, Bida. It is gratifying to note that the Institution is today solely housed in its permanent site along Bida-Doko Road, Bida, Niger State.
It is on record that “Decree No 33, Federal Polytechnic Decree 1979” changed the name of the Institution from BIDA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, to THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, BIDA, NIGER STATE. This name over the years have become a phenomenal name, particularly as it is christened BIDA STANDARD! (BIDA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE). The Institution had grown from a humble beginning and modest number of ELEVEN (11) senior staff, THIRTY THREE (33) Junior staff and TWO HUNDRED AND ELEVEN (211) students intake at inception to Eight Thousands students and One Thousand Eight Hundreds of staff as at date.
The Federal Polytechnic, Bida had been managed by TEN (10) Rectors with myself, DR. ABUBAKAR ABDUL DZUKOGI as the INCUMBENT and ELEVENTH RECTOR. A number conveniently suitable for a TEAM. I assumed office as substantive Rector and Chief Executive on May 22, 2015 and currently on my SECOND and FINAL TENURE (Four years each) which as approved, will elapse on May 22, 2023, by God’s grace.
I am happy to be associated with this Institution, the students and of course, the staff who have continued to make my SEVEN POINT AGENDA for the growth and further development of the Polytechnic accomplishable., It may interest you to know that The Federal Polytechnic, Bida today has the following fully accredited Schools and Programmes:

My mission to leave the Polytechnic better than I met it is already a fate accomplished. It is therefore, my joy and satisfaction to formally invite you into the heart of The Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State – the home of BIDA STANDARD as shall continue to be showcased and accessed through this website.
